| dc.description.abstract | Dragonflies and butterflies, which are flying insects are wildlife that play an important role as bioindicators of clean water and clean environment. There are eight habitats where dragonflies and butterflies are found, namely housing, settlements, parks, urban forests, gardens, rice fields, river, and open fields. The methods used were transect lines and roaming. Dragonflies encountered were 21 species with a total of 579 individuals and butterflies encountered were 44 species with total of 464 individuals found throughout Sukabumi City. Dragonfly and butterfly encounter data were analyzed with species diversity index (H’) and species evenness index (E). The H’ value of dragonflies was 0,898 and the E value of dragonflies was 0,191 and the H’ value of butterflies was 1,462 and the E value of butterflies was 0,310. The dragonflies found were from the families Libellulidae, Calopterygidae, Chlorocyphidae, Coenagrionidae, Euphaeidae, and Platynemididae. Butterflies found were from the families Papilionidae, Pieridae, and Nymphalidae. The dominant dragonfly species was Orthetrum sabina and the dominant butterfly species was Leptosia nina.
