Abstract: Kabupaten Cilacap memiliki berbagai potensi mulai dari kekayaan alam dan keragaman budaya. Berbagai potensi alam dan budaya tersebut merupakan identitas dari Kabupaten Cilacap yang dapat dimanfaatkan dan dibuat menjadi sebuah maskot. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi identitas regional Kabupaten Cilacap, merancang maskot, dan menganalisis penilaian budayawan terhadap rancangan maskot. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 4 November 2023-5 Januari 2024. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui wawancara (indept interview), kuesioner, dan observasi. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode snowball sampling. Analisis data yang dilakukan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif deskriptif dan pengolahan data menggunakan tabel distribusi frekuensi. Penilaian budayawan terhadap rancangan maskot didasari dari aspek objek, bentuk, warna, filosofi, dan bahan. Penilaian dari budayawan menghasilkan maskot hiu dengan jenis hiu tikusan yang memiliki berbagai elemen maskot yang terdiri dari wayang kulit, bunga wijayakusuma, baju beskap Cilacap, kain jarik tirtotejo, mendoan, Benteng Pendem, dan pantai. Desain maskot tersebut kemudian dibuat menjadi sebuah boneka.
Cilacap Regency has various potentials ranging from natural wealth and cultural diversity. The various natural and cultural potentials are the identity of Cilacap Regency that can be utilised and made into a mascot. This research aims to identify the regional identity of Cilacap Regency, design a mascot, and analyse the cultural experts' assessment of the mascot design. The research was conducted on 4 November 2023-5 January 2024. The research data were collected through interviews (indept interviews), questionnaires, and observations. The data collection method was carried out using the snowball sampling method. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis and data processing using frequency distribution tables. The cultural assessment of the mascot design was based on the aspects of object, shape, colour, philosophy, and material. The assessment from cultural experts resulted in a shark mascot with a tikusan shark type that has various mascot elements consisting of wayang kulit, wijayakusuma flowers, Cilacap beskap clothes, jarik tirtotejo, mendoan, Benteng Pendem, and beaches. The mascot design was then made into a doll.
