Samia cynthia ricini silkworms are one of the livestock commodities that are easy to cultivate, especially in Indonesia. Silk production produced by breeders still depends on the supply of eggs from other regions. Based on this, the hatching time of the silkworm S. c. ricini needs to be controlled so that when shipping the eggs do not hatch during the transportation process. Egg hatching control can be carried out by regulating the light intensities (lux) and illumination (photoperiod) during the egg hatching process to delay hatching. This research aims to analyze the effect of light different intensities (lux) and photoperiod on the hatching time of S. c. ricini silkworm eggs. The treatments given was exposure to light (light/L) and darkness (dark/D) illumination times (8L:16D), (24L:0D) with light intensities 30 lux and 40 then (0L:24D) as the control with each sample consisting of data colleection includeds temperature and humidity of each box, hatchability, length of hatching time, larval survival and embryo development patterns. The results showed that the duration of photoperiod and light intensities not affect the length of hatching time of S. c. ricini silkworm eggs.-
