Jambi Province is known as an area vulnerable to fires because almost every year it experiences fire incidents on peatlands, which have a significant extent. The purpose of this study was to i) analyze the distribution and number of hotspots, ii) analyze the correlation between rainfall and hotspots as indicators of forest and peatland fires, and iii) analyze community activities related to forest and peatland burning. Mapping of hotspot distribution was conducted using spatial analysis of hotspot data, peatland distribution, and administrative data of Muaro Jambi Regency. The distribution of hotspots and daily rainfall data that had been recapitulated were then subjected to bivariate Pearson correlation tests using SPSS software. In-depth interviews with a quota sampling technique were conducted to determine community activities that could trigger fires. The distribution of hotspots in Muaro Jambi Regency during the period 2019-2023 reached a total of 5,974 points.. The analysis shows that the relationship between rainfall and hotspots in Muaro Jambi is not significant and moderately negatively correlated, with a P-value of 0.493 > 0.05-
