| Abstract: | Penggunaan pestisida secara intensif untuk mengatasi hama dan penyakit
tanaman dapat menimbulkan efek negatif bagi lingkungan, konsumen, dan ekologi.
Pengendalian menggunakan agens hayati seperti aktinomiset merupakan salah satu
bentuk penerapan pertanian berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan. Penelitian
tentang aktinomiset pada pertanian dan pemanfaatannya sebagai agens hayati telah
banyak dilakukan namun masih sedikit dalam pengembangan media untuk
pembiakan massal. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui potensi ampas tebu dan
tongkol jagung sebagai media alternatif pertumbuhan dan pembiakan massal agens
hayati berbagai isolat aktinomiset. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi
peremajaan isolat aktinomiset pada media ISP-2, penyiapan ampas tebu dan tongkol
jagung sebagai bahan media, analisis pertumbuhan radial lima aktinomiset pada
media beras, ampas tebu, dan tongkol jagung, dan analisis perkembangan propagul
lima isolat aktinomiset pada media beras, ampas tebu, dan tongkol jagung. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan media ampas tebu dan media tongkol jagung berpotensi
sebagai media alternatif untuk pembiakan massal aktinomiset. Pertumbuhan
aktinomiset dipengaruhi oleh jenis media tumbuh dan jenis isolat aktinomiset. Isolat
AKT41, AKT56, dan AKT57 menunjukkan pertumbuhan radial aktinomiset terbaik
pada media tongkol jagung diikuti ampas tebu dan pertumbuhan terendah pada
media beras. Aktinomiset isolat AKT57 merupakan isolat dengan pertumbuhan
terbaik dan tidak berbeda nyata pada media beras, ampas tebu, dan tongkol jagung. Intensive use of pesticides to control plant pests and diseases can have negative effects on the environment, consumers, and ecology. Biological control using biocontrol agents such as actinomycetes is a sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture. Actinomycetes are one type of microorganism with potential for development as biocontrol agents. Although there has been considerable research on actinomycetes in agriculture and their use as biocontrol agents, the development of media for mass propagation remains limited. This study aims to determine the potential of sugarcane bagasse and corn cob waste as alternative media for the growth and mass propagation of various actinomycete isolates. The research stages include isolate rejuvenation on ISP-2 media, preparation of waste materials as media, analysis of radial growth of five actinomycete isolates on rice media, sugarcane bagasse, and corn cob and analysis of the development of propagules of five actinomycete isolates on rice media, sugarcane bagasse, and corn cob. The results showed that sugarcane bagasse media and corn cob media have the potential as alternative media for mass producing of actinomycetes. Actinomycete growth is affected by the type of growing media and the type of actinomycete isolate. Isolates AKT41, AKT56, and AKT57 showed the best radial growth of actinomycetes on corn cob media followed by sugarcane bagasse media and the lowest growth on rice media. Actinomycete isolate AKT57 was the best-growing isolate and showed no significant difference in growth on rice, sugarcane bagasse, and corn cob media. |
