dc.description.abstract | Kasus retensio plasenta (RP) masih sering ditemukan di peternakan sapi perah.Penurunan produksi air susu menjadi faktor kerugian ekonomi. | - |
dc.description.abstract | Placental retention (PR) cases are still common in dairy farms. Economic loss due to decreased milk production is one of the impacts. There are still few studies on placental retention and it’s handling. The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence, influencing factors and handling of placental retention in KPBS Pangalengan and TPK Goha. Study data were obtained from records of KPBS Pangalengan and interviews with veterinarians and paramedics. The PR prevalence calculation formula was used and from the calculation obtained the PR prevalence value at KPBS Pangalengan as much as 5.82% and in Goha as much as 22.70% for 5 years. Prevalence PR in 2020 (46.00%) to 2021 (13.0%) showed a sharp decrease with a difference in prevalence value of 33.00%. The data showed that 16.00% of PR cases were caused by abortion and 21.70% caused endometritis cases over 5 years. Factors influencing PR cases are feed and cage sanitation. Handling PR cases is still using the manual removal method by giving antibiotic boluses can still be done. At KPBS Pangalengan PR cases have decreased within 5 years, with the addition of cattle-mix, and always maintaining cage sanitation. The manual removal method can still be used as a method of handling placental retention. | - |
