Niclosamide is often used to treat tapeworm infections in the digestive tract of laying hens. The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of administering the anthelmintic drug niclosamide on the performance of the chickens and the external quality of the eggs. This study used 10 Lohman Brown with 2 treatments: chickens given Niclosamide and chickens not given Niclosamide. The observed parameters were the performance of the laying hens, including Hen Day Production and FCR, and the external quality of the eggs. The results showed differences in chicken performance, specifically in FCR values, and in the external quality of the eggs. The T-test results showed differences in FCR values and egg weight. The effect of administering the anthelmintic drug niclosamide works by killing the tapeworms in the digestive tract of the laying hens. Optimal nutrient absorption affects the performance and external quality of the laying hens. The influence of the anthelmintic drug niclosamide impacts the performance of the chickens, as evidenced by FCR values and the external quality of the eggs, including egg weight and shell cleanliness.
