Drought is a climate change phenomenon that must be faced every year for some regions in Indonesia, including in West Java. Some regions experience prolonged droughts on a regular basis, while others may experience shorter periods of drought between rainfall events. This drought characteristic can be analyzed using the return period of one of the climate indicators, namely Consecutive Dry Days (CDD). Therefore, this study aims to analyze drought based on the return period of the parametric distribution function in accordance with CDD in West Java. The distribution function was estimated using a graph comparison and the Anderson-Darling test. Based on the results of the study, the most fit parametric distribution in most CDD data in the West Java region is the inverse gaussian distribution followed by the distribution of generalized extreme values, lognormal, and weibull. Furthermore, the return period analysis shows that Indramayu Regency has the shortest return period to drought, meaning that extreme droughts often occur. Meanwhile, the entire Bogor area and Tasikmalaya City are the areas with the longest drought return period. |
