Penyakit ice-ice diperkirakan menjadi salah satu penyebab masifnya
penurunan produksi ini. Pada penelitian ini, penulis ingin melakukan analisis
kualitas air pada Kawasan Budidaya Rumput Laut Pulau Panggang, Kabupaten
Pulau Seribu pasca serangan penyakit ice-ice.
diantaranya, pH, salinitas, suhu, oksigen terlarut, alkalinitas, ammonia, nitrit, nitrat,
rumput laut. Indonesia holds a preeminent position as the world's primary producer of raw material iota carrageenan, contributing to over half of the global output. However, a concerning trend has been observed a 2.53% decline in the country's seaweed production since 2018. This decline occurred despite a high demand from market. Notably, Seribu Island region, previously renowned for its seaweed production, has witnessed a decline of over 90% in production. This decline is purportedly attributed to the outbreak of ice-ice disease. To shed light on this matter, the present research endeavors to assess the water quality in the seaweed cultivation areas of Panggang Island, following an ice-ice disease outbreak. The research methodology employed involves the examination of various water quality parameters, including pH, salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate (orthophosphate). The research findings indicate that the ammonia levels were relatively suitable after the ice-ice disease outbreak; however, the phosphate levels were found to be below the threshold considered conducive for seaweed cultivation. Consequently, this study suggests the need for an investigation into the nutrient composition in the water and its correlation with seaweed growth and resistance to ice-ice disease to comprehend the optimal conditions for seaweed cultivation effectively.. |
