Abstract: Refrigeration equipment in refrigerated transportation is built to function for long periods without attention. Air temperature monitoring during transportation takes place could detect whether the equipment was functioning correctly. The solution offered in this research was to design a device to monitor and record temperature during transportation. The aim of this study was to build a system and device prototype to monitor and record temperature of refrigerated transportation and to test the performance the designed device. The device use Arduino open source microcontroller platform as the basis. The data of the temperature stored inside SD eard as a log file to report the temperature history during transportation. The device Will transmit warning to drivers and related stakeholders. Warning activity occurred the fluctuation of the container temperature reach or exceed temperature maximum threshold. Several performance tests were done, included basic feature test, recording fest, and transportation simulation test. From the result, using accuracy formula, the temperature measurement relative accuracy level of the device is 80.19% and absolute average accuracy level is 1.6 °C in 8-10 °C temperature working range.
