dc.description.abstractPeatland is one of the land covers on the earth's surface that can provide environmental services, one of which is as a carbon reservoir. To provide anaccurate peatland carbon stock assessment, rapid and appropriate monitoring of carbon stocks on peat surfaces is required. This research aims to understand land cover and its changes and the resulting carbon reserves at each land cover change from 2000 to 2022. This study was conducted in Peat Hydrological Unity Area (KHG) in East Jabung District, Jambi Province, using a cloud computing-based remote sensing approach using Landsat 5, 8, and 9 image data options. Land cover classification, is done by using Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm via the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform with 11 Landsat imagery indices. The results showed that the SVM algorithm performed well with an Overall Accuracy (OA)value of 92,5 and Kappa value of 88,94. During 2000-2022, the most significant land changes occurred in peat swamp forests, where it were converted to plantations, covering 28.97% of total KHG area. In 2022, the largest carbon reserves is foundreached 18,589,554.77 tons.id
