Abstract: This raearch focuses on management qrtdization of hsgm motor fishes in efloorts of improving the prosperity of &hermen in Serang Regency. The objective of this research is to determine optirnalization measures in the management of bagan motor fisheries and to d n e the prospaity level of hap motor fishermen and their families. Data gathered include biological and economical aspects of bagan motor fisheries, which is prmsed using Gordon-Schaefer Statistical Model. The prosperity level is detemuned using the 11 indicators of households prosperity level set by the Ndond Statistical Burem, derived &om SUSENAS 1491. The result shows b d on the 4 capture, the mmagement of anchnvy fisheries using bagm motor in Semg Regency is still below the Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY), Maximum Ecmmic Yield {MEY) and o wa ccess (a)F.u rhemum, it still has the opporhmily to increase the number of fishing fleet (boai units), ked on the fact that the current number of operating bagan motor in the region is 14 units with fishing effort of 3,020 trips per year. Regarding the prospity level set by BPS, it h w s that most of the fshermen's households in S m g Regency are considered highly prosperous. lt is expected that the economical and biological overfishing will not threaten the sustainability of anchovies fishmies resour= and deteriorate the prosperity of the bagan motor fishermen, in order to keep the bagan motor fisheries management in Serang Regency sustained. Stringmi and consistent control over fishing efforts, total production d the number of fleet should be considered to reach these objectives.
