Cihateup duck is rm Indonesian local duck which is mostly found in West Java especially in Taskmlaya and Gamt Regency. Cihateup duck is h o w as a mountain duck became it can be adapted to cool temperatures and can survive in the high lands. The aim of this research was to get information about biolo~cch aracteristics of Cihateup ducks. Five hundred and seventeen Cihateup eggs from T a s i W y a and Garut were hatched. After hatching, the duck that used to treatments are 9 miles, 19 females duck from Tasikdaya and 35 males, 37 females duck from Garut. Commercial diet was gven with 2 periods i.e: starter and grower diet. Water and feed were given ad libitum. Characteristic of egg, body weight, average daily gain, feed consumwon and conversion, body measurements, plumage ptterns, shank and lxak colors, and b l d protein polymorphism were observed. The data of egg characteristics and growth pattern were analyzed with general linier model procedure by SAS 6.12. Body measurements were analyzed with Principal Component Analyze (PCA) by Minitab release 12.13. The data plumage patterns were analyzed with descriptive analyze. B l d proteins variation were analyzed to measure genetic variant and genetic &stance. The results showed that egg weight from TasWya (68.0 g) was more weight than those from Gamt (65,6 g). Egg index from Tasikmdaya (80.1 9%) and Gmt (79.67%) were not significantly different and both have normal egg index. Egg fertility from Gamt (6 1.0%) was higher than from Tasikmalaya (36.75%).Egg hatchability from Tasikmalaya (65.12%) was better than from Garut (52.46%). There were no differences of body weight and average daily gain of male and female Cihateup ducks. Feed consumption of male was higher than female but the feed conversion of males was better than the females. The male ducks from TasiWaya (88.89%) dm Garut (94.29%) have dominant plumage patterns penciled, whereas the female ducks from Tasikmalaya (63.16%) and Garut (64.86%) have dominant plumage pattern laced. Almost dl Cihateup ducks from Tashdaya male (88.89%) and female (89.47%) also h m Garut male (85.71 %) and female (91.89%) have black colored shanks and beaks and only some showed the yellow color. There were similarity of blood protein between Chteup duck from Tasilunalaya and Garut. The blood protein study showed a close relationship between the Tasikmalaya and Gruut Cihateup ducks.id
