dc.description.abstractKayu bambang lanang (Magnolia champaca (L). Figlar) merupakan salah satu kayu yang banyak diminati masyarakat Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat fisis dan keawetan alami kayu bambang lanang yang ditanam pada jarak tanam 3 m x 3 m; 4 m x 2,5 m; 6 m x 3 m terhadap rayap tanah dan rayap kayu kering. Kayu bambang lanang diperoleh dari tegakan di Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus Kemampo dengan jarak tanam 3 m x 3 m; 4 m x 2,5 m; 6 m x 3 m berumur 12 tahun. Sifat fisis dan keawetan alami dihitung pada bagian pangkal, tengah, ujung serta membedakan teras dan gubal. Jarak tanam memiliki pengaruh nyata terhadap sifat fisis dan keawetan alami kayu bambang lanang. Kerapatan kayu bambang lanang berkisar 0,50 – 0,68 g/cm³, berat jenis kayu bambang lanang bernilai 0,46 – 0,78, dan kadar air kayu bambang lanang berkisar antara 14,89% - 18,01%. Kehilangan berat kayu bambang lanang terhadap serangan rayap tanah  dan rayap kayu kering berturut-turut adalah 6,28% - 34,03% dan 0,51% - 2,32%.id
dc.description.abstractBambang lanang wood (Magnolia champaca (L). Figlar) is one of the woods that is widely used by the people of South Sumatra. This research aims to analyze the physical properties and natural durability of bambang lanang wood planted at a spacing of 3 m x 3 m; 4m x 2.5 m; 6 m x 3 m against subterranean termites and dry wood termites. The bambang lanang wood was obtained from stands in the Kemampo Special Purpose Forest Area with a planting space of 3 m x 3 m; 4 m x 2.5 m; 6 m x 3 m, 12 years old. Physical properties and natural durability are calculated at the base, middle, tip and distinguish between core and sapwood. Planting space has a significant difference on the physical properties and natural durability of bambang lanang wood. The density of bambang lanang wood obtained 0.50 – 0.68 g/cm³, the specific gravity of bambang lanang wood was 0.46 – 0.78 and the moisture content of bambang lanang wood ranged from 14.89% - 18.01%. The weight loss of bambang lanang wood against subterranean termites and drywood termites was 6.28% - 34.03% and 0.51% - 2.32%.id
