Formulasi Krim Wajah dengan Penambahan Etil Ester dari Minyak Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis)

Abstract

PT Sacha Inchi Sejahtera (SAINS) merupakan perusahaan budidaya tanaman sacha inchi yang saat ini berfokus pada proses hulu dengan niat melakukan hilirisasi produk minyak sacha inchi. Kandungan antioksidan pada minyak sacha inchi sangat potensial untuk perawatan kulit terutama untuk wajah, hal ini yang menjadi alasan PT SAINS untuk mengembangkan produk krim wajah. Permasalahan yang dialami adalah viskositas minyak sacha inchi yang cukup tinggi sehingga sulit meresap pada kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk formulasi dan karakterisasi krim wajah, penentuan formulasi krim wajah terbaik, uji khasiat krim wajah, dan analisis kelayakan finansial. Metode yang digunakan pada proyek ini mengangkat desain keteknikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam beberapa fase, yaitu fase eksplorasi, fase pendefinisian masalah, fase ideasi, fase pengenbangan prototipe serta fase validasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan formulasi memenuhi syarat mutu SNI dengan formulasi terbaik krim wajah penambahan etil ester 3%. Krim wajah memiliki khasiat meningkatkan kadar kolagen kulit, elastisitas, dan kelembaban kulit serta dapat menurunkan kadar sebum kulit. Hasil analisis biaya dinilai layak berdasarkan aspek finansial karena memiliki B/C ratio >1 dan NPV>0

PT Sacha Inchi Sejahtera (SAINS) is a sacha inchi cultivation company which is currently focusing on the upstream process with the intention of downstreaming sacha inchi oil products. The antioxidant content in sacha inchi oil is very potential for skin care, especially for the face, this is the reason for PT SAINS to develop face cream products. The problem experienced is that the viscosity of sacha inchi oil is quite high, making it difficult to absorb into the skin. This study aimed to formulate and characterize facial creams, treat the best facial cream formulations, test the efficacy of facial creams, and analyze the feasibility. The method used in this project was based on engineering design. This research was conducted in several phases, namely the exploration phase, the problem definition phase, the ideation phase, the prototype development phase, and the validation phase. The results of this study obtained a formulation that met the quality requirements of SNI with the best formulation of face cream with the addition of 3% ethyl ester. Face cream has the property of increasing skin collagen levels, elasticity, and skin moisture and can reduce skin sebum levels. The results of the cost analysis are considered feasible based on the financial aspect because it has a B/C ratio >1 and NPV>0.
