| Abstract: | PT Sacha Inchi Sejahtera (SAINS) berniat melakukan hilirisasi produk
minyak sacha inchi berupa produk skincare yaitu face oil. Namun
PT Sacha Inchi Sejahtera (SAINS) intends to downstream sacha inchi oil products in the form of skincare products, namely face oil. However, the problem is that PT SAINS does not yet have RnD and the viscosity of sacha inchi oil is still quite high, making it difficult to absorb into the skin. This research aimed to synthesize ethyl ester of sacha inchi oil, formulation and characterization of face oil, organoleptic test, irritation test, and efficacy test, packaging design, and financial feasibility analysis. The method used in the project was engineering design which includes the exploration phase, problem definition phase, ideation phase, prototype development phase and validation phase. The results of this study obtained ethyl ester which is proven to be able to reduce the viscosity of sacha inchi oil so that it is easier to absorb into the skin, the best face oil formulation is obtained in the treatment of adding 15% concentration of ethyl ester and sacha inchi oil respectively. The characterization of face oil is in accordance with the standard. Face oil preparation does not cause irritation. Based on the efficacy test, it is proven that face oil is able to increase moisture, collagen and skin elasticity, reduce sebum, and does not change pigment. Primary packaging is made using transparent glass bottles equipped with droppers, while secondary packaging uses printed paperboard. The net B/C value > 1 and NPV > 1 were obtained, so it can be said that the face oil development business is feasible. |
