Abstract: Long-term intensive land management practiced causes to decrease soil quality and productivity in PT. Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) plantation as indicated by reducing soil organic matter and soil compaction. One of the efforts to overcome soil compaction is through the application of organic matter (OM). Conventional OM application is limited due to its relatively short residence time. Applying of OM in the middle of the crop season is difficult due to the densely plant population. The use of bromelain extraction waste (BEW) and chopped bamboo (CB) as resistant OM (ROM) is expected to be an alternative soil conditioner to improve soil physical properties. The research aims to identify the effects of applying BEW and CB on soil aggregate stability after 11 months of application. The research was conducted at location 88 C2 in PT. GGP in Central Lampung, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a single factor, which is the application of ROM. After 11 months of application, the experimental plot with CB application showed a more stable soil aggregate stability index (SASI) compared to the plot with BEW application at doses of 60 and 80 tons per hectare. There is an indication of a decrease in SASI after 11 months of applying ROM compared to observations in the 5th month of application. Keywords: bromelin, chopped bamboo, residence time, soil compaction
