Human development is one of the prioritized goals in Indonesia's national development. The condition of human development in a region can be measured by the Human Development Index (HDI). Food and nutrition indirectly play an important role in the success of human development. The nutritional status of toddlers and the food security situation as seen from the Food Security Index (FSI) are variables that can affect the quality of human life. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nutritional status of children under five and FSI with HDI in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the level of nutritional status of children under five, the FSI score and HDI in Indonesia is quite good and tends to improve, but there are still gaps in some regions. The correlation test results showed that the nutritional status of children under five (stunting, wasting, underweight) and FSI had a significant relationship with HDI scores (p=0,000). The higher the prevalence of stunting, wasting, and underweight, the lower the HDI score. Variable FSI and HDI also show a significant positive relationship. Both variables run in the same direction, if the FSI value increases, the HDI score also increases.
