Farmers are essential actors in the sustainability of food and agriculture. However, there is an aging of farmers and a decline in the interest of the younger generation in agriculture. For the sake of the sustainability of the agricultural sector, farmer regeneration is an important issue that needs to be discussed and realized immediately. The decline in farmer interest is caused by various factors, namely internal and external factors. This study analyzes how farmer children perceive interest in working in the agricultural sector. The method used is quantitative, with a questionnaire as an instrument, and is supported by qualitative data using in-depth interviews and observation. This method was chosen to see the influence of internal and external factors on perceptions and to strengthen the analysis using qualitative data. Farmers' children see the agricultural and farming sectors as less promising jobs in terms of income but are very helpful in meeting primary needs. Farmers' children do not have the will to work in the agricultural sector but feel it is a must for survival. Individual characteristics and external factors have no significant effect on the perceptions of farmer children
