The sub-surface drainage system is an alternative technology that can be applied in water management. One of the technologies to improve subsurface drainage performance is through envelope pipe. The application of calcite reinforced sand backfill has the potential to use as a filter envelope as well as load bearing so that a modified combination of perforated pipe and calcite sand backfill can be an alternative. This study aims to analyze the effect of modification of perforated pipe with calcite sand fill for water drainage. The pipes used are sheetpipe (SP) and a modified perforated pipe (PP) made of PVC with a hole size of 2 mm. The tests carried out included testing the physical properties of the soil, flow rate, acid leaching, sediment, and pipe strength. The results show that SP and PP can drain water smoothly and stably. Maximum flow rate of SP is 189 g/s and PP is 173,3 g/s. In term of distribution of calcite and sediment, the results show that in SP and PP with backfill calcite sand is distributed quite well but there are still grains of sand and calcite that escape while in geotextiles very few escaped. In terms of strength, PVC pipe is stronger and stiffer than sheet pipe.
