| dc.description.abstract | Ikan gabus (Channa striata) merupakan spesies potensial untuk dibudidayakan, namun masa pemeliharaannya cukup lama sekitar 8 bulan dan harga pakan berprotein tinggi menjadi kendala dalam proses budidayanya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menguji efektivitas pemberian recombinant Epinephelus lanceolatus growth hormone (rElGH) melalui pakan buatan terhadap pertumbuhan benih ikan gabus. Penelitian terdiri atas dua perlakuan, yaitu penambahan rElGH pada pakan dengan dosis 5 mg/kg pakan dan tanpa penambahan rElGH pada pakan, dengan empat kali ulangan setiap perlakuan. Benih ikan gabus dengan rata-rata panjang 4,29±0,12 cm; bobot 0,54±0,05 g dipelihara dalam hapa berukuran 1,0 x 1,0 x 1,0 m3 dengan padat tebar 30 ekor per hapa. Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 60 hari dengan pemberian pakan mengandung rElGH dilakukan hanya satu minggu pertama secara at satiation. Parameter yang diamati yaitu bobot akhir, panjang akhir, pertumbuhan mutlak, pertumbuhan spesifik, laju pertumbuhan harian, rasio konversi pakan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertambahan bobot dan panjang akhir benih ikan gabus yang diberi perlakuan rElGH berturut-turut meningkat 64,6% dan 18,6% lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol dan rasio konversi pakan menurun 36,4% dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol. | dc.description.abstract | Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is potential species for cultivation, but the culture period is quite long, around 8 months and the price of high protein feed is an obstacle in the cultivation process. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of recombinant Epinephelus lanceolatus growth hormone (rElGH) through oral on growth of snakehead fish juvenile. The study consisted of two treatments, the addition of rElGH to feed with 5 mg/kg feed dose and without the addition of rElGH, repeated four times every treatment. Fish with average length 4.29±0.12 cm; weight 0.54±0.05 g are preserved in a hapa measuring 1,0 x 1,0 x 1,0 m3 with fish density of 30 in each net hapa. Fish rearing carried out for 60 days and given feed containing rElGH only in the first week in at satiation method. Parameters observed were final weight, final length, absolute growth, specific growth, daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio and survival rate. The results show weight and final length treated with rElGH respectively by 64.6% and 18.6% higher than the control treatment and feed conversion ratio decreased 36.4% compared to the control treatment. The application of rElGH can be useful to increase growth of snakehead fish juvenile. | id |
