Abstract: Pertambahan jumlah penduduk yang meningkat memengaruhi kebutuhan protein hewani di Indonesia. Potensi pengembangan ternak potong kerbau lumpur dapat menjadi solusi dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan daging. Kondisi lingkungan ternak yang nyaman dibutuhkan kerbau untuk meningkatkan produktivitas ternak dengan melihat mikroklimat kandang dan suhu permukaan tubuh ternak kerbau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengelolaan mikroklimat kandang melalui sistem pengabutan dalam menurunkan suhu permukaan tubuh ternak kerbau. Penelitan menggunakan tiga ekor kerbau lumpur dara dengan umur sekitar dua tahun. Analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk pengamatan suhu udara kandang, kelembapan udara kandang, Temperature Humidity Index (THI), suhu komponen kandang, dan suhu permukaan tubuh ternak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian pengabutan air dapat menurunkan nilai Temperature Humidity Index (THI) kandang pada waktu pagi dan siang hari mendekati zona nyaman kerbau. Pemberian pengabutan air berpotensi memperbaiki mikroklimat kandang dan menurunkan suhu permukaan tubuh ternak kerbau.
Increasing population growth affects the need for animal protein in Indonesia. The potential for the development of mud buffalo beef cattle can be a solution in meeting the demand for meat. Buffaloes need comfortable livestock environmental conditions to increase livestock productivity by looking at the microclimate of the cage and the body surface temperature of the buffalo. This study aims to analyze the management of the stable microclimate through the misting system in improving the body surface temperature of buffaloes. This study used three mud buffaloes aged about two years. Data analysis used a descriptive method to observe cage air temperature, cage air humidity, Temperature Humidity Index (THI), cage component temperature, and livestock body surface temperature. The results showed that the application of misting system can reduce the value of the Temperature Humidity Index (THI) of the cage in the morning and afternoon close to the buffalo's comfort zone. Giving misting system has the potential to improve the microclimate of the pen and reduce the body surface temperature of the buffalo.
