Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 = TKKS murni; P1 = TKKS Delignifikasi.
This reasearch aims to evaluate the potential of empty palm fruit bunches as animal feed by carrying out the delignification process, from empty oil palm bunches by rumen fermentation using in vitro techniques. The treatment consisted of P0 = Pure Empty Bunches of Palm Oil; P1 = Delignified Empty Bunches of Palm Oil. The parameters tested were rumen, pH, ammonia concentration (NH3), total volatile fatty acids (VFA), dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, crude fiber digestibility, methane gas production, fulvic acid content, and population of bacteria. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect on dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility rumen, pH, ammonia concentration (NH3), methane gas, and the number of bacterial populations. Treatments with significant effect (P<0.05) were shown for total volatile fatty acids (VFA). The conclusion from this research, the use of empty palm fruit bunches that have been delignified can accelerate the rumen fermentation process and increase VFA production.
