Abstract: PT. Daya Maju Lestari Block II and III (PT. DML Blok II and III) is a company engaged in the exploitation of natural production forests in the districts of Kutai Barat and Mahakam Ulu, East Kalimantan Province. The company has a strong commitment to sustainable forest management. In order to minimize the negative impact of forest exploitation on plant biodiversity in the area, it is necessary to identify the existence of protected and/or rare plant species, threats, and the existence of management and monitoring efforts for biodiversity that need to be carried out. This study aims to identify habitat conditions and plant biodiversity in the PBPH area of PT. DML Blocks II and III, Kutai Barat and Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan Province. In the PBPH area of PT. DML Blocks II and III consist of 402 species which can be grouped into 95 families, where the highest plant species richness is found in secondary dryland forest (400 species) and the least is found in primary dryland forest (292 species). Based on the protection status, in the PBPH area of PT. DML Blocks II and III did not find protected plant species according to the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation (Permen LHK) No. P.106 of 2018; however, 9 plant species were found which were included in the CITES Appendix II List, and 13 (thirteen) plant species were found which were classified as VU/Vulnerable (vulnerable) according to IUCN, 4 (four) species which were included in EN/Endangered (threatened/endangered) according to IUCN, 6 (six) plant species included in the CR/Critically Endangered (critical) category according to the IUCN. There are 4 threats to plant biodiversity in the PBPH area of PT. DML Blocks II and III namely (1) Illegal logging, (2) Area encroachment, (3) Availability of resources to manage and monitor plants is still lacking, and (4) Forest and land fires. Plant biodiversity management activities in the PBPH area of PT. DML Blocks II and III that need to be carried out are boundary marking, socialization internally and externally, prevention and protection of plant biodiversity, further surveys of plant species population status, and coordination with relevant agencies and the community. Plant biodiversity monitoring activities in the PBPH area of PT. DML Blocks II and III that need to be carried out are biodiversity and plant density, the effectiveness of preventing and controlling disturbances to plant biodiversity, and monitoring the intensity of disturbances to plant biodiversity.
