Ayam pelung merupakan ayam asli Indonesia yang berasal dari Kabupaten
Cianjur, Jawa Barat. Ayam ini memiliki suara panjang dan mengalun, yang
dihasilkan oleh organ syrinx. Syrinx tersusun atas cartilago, membrane, musculus,
dan pessulus syrinx. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan
karakteristik suara song dan morfometrik syrinx ayam pelung jantan muda dan
dewasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam pelung jantan muda (umur 7 - 8 bulan)
dan dewasa (umur 18 bulan) masing-masing sebanyak tiga ekor. Analisis deskriptif
dilakukan untuk menjelaskan karakteristik suara song dan morfometrik syrinx pada
ayam pelung jantan. Uji t dilakukan untuk menjelaskan adanya perbedaan data
akustik suara song dan pengukuran syrinx ayam pelung kedua kelompok umur.
Analisis korelasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ukuran syrinx terhadap data
akustik suara song ayam pelung jantan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa
kelompok ayam pelung jantan dewasa memiliki suara song dengan nilai amplitudo,
durasi, dan kekuatan yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kelompok muda. Selain
itu, pada kelompok ayam pelung dewasa musculus sternotrachealis teramati lebih
subur dibandingkan pada kelompok muda dan diameter cartilago
bronchosyringealis khususnya yang sinister (laterolateral) pada kelompok dewasa
lebih kecil dibandingkan kelompok muda, yaitu masing-masing sebesar 2.62±0.28
mm dan 3.08±0.23 mm (P<0.05). Hasil penelitian ini juga memperlihatkan bahwa
diameter cartilago tympanum khususnya bagian laterolateral berkorelasi negative
(P<0.05) terhadap nilai amplitudo (min dan peak amplitude), sehingga
bertambahnya diameter cartilago tympanum (laterolateral) menyebabkan nilai min
dan peak amplitude menurun. Selain itu, bertambahnya umur berkorelasi positif
(P<0.05) terhadap average dan max power, sehingga bertambahnya umur
menyebabkan nilai average dan max power meningkat. Dapat disimpulkam bahwa
perbedaan umur dan perbedaan karakteristik morfometrik syrinx berpengaruh

Pelung chicken is one of Indonesia native chickens originated from Cianjur, West Java. The chicken has a long and flowing song, produced by syrinx. Poultry’s syrinx contains of cartilages, membranes, musculus, and pessulus. This study analyzed characteristic of song and syrinx morphometric in adult male pelung iv chickens. Juvenile group (7 - 8 months) and adult group (18 months), three chickens in each group. The descriptive analysis was used to reveal the characteristics of song and syrinx morphometric in male pelung chicken. The t-test was used to the differences in song acoustic and measurement of syrinx. Correlation analysis was used to determine the effect of syrinx size on the song acoustic in male pelung chicken. The adult chicken group produced a higher amplitude, duration, and power compared to the juvenile chicken group. The adult chicken group had musculus sternotrachealis more mature than juvenile chicken group and the diameter of bronchosyringealis sinister (laterolateral) cartilage is smaller than juvenile chicken group wheres 2.62±0.28 mm and 3.08±0.23 mm. This study also showed that the diameter of cartilage tympanum (laterolateral) was negatively correlated to the minimum and peak amplitude of chicken song (P<0.05), this means that increasing of cartilage tympanum diameter (laterolateral) might decrease the mininum and peak amplitude of chicken song. However, the chicken age was positively correlated to the average and max power of chicken song. The increasing of chicken age might increase the average and maximum power of chicken song. In conclusion the differences of chicken age and chicken song and chicken syrinx morphometric significantly (P<0.05) affect the song characteristic of pelung chicken. |
