The Covid-19 pandemic emerged at the end of 2019, with the rapid spread of the virus causing a significant impact on various sectors; one was the tourism. Tourist visits have decreased drastically as happened in the tourist area of Cidahu Village, Sukabumi, West Java, which is adjacent to the TNGHS. This study aimed to identify public perceptions regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the community's economy and mitigation strategies in dealing with a pandemic from an economic perspective. Through household questionnaire surveys, interviews, field observations, and literature studies with quantitative and qualitative analysis, the Covid-19 pandemic had impacted the people's economy. The community experienced a decrease in income and reduced household consumption as a means of defense. Even so, people are not motivated to look for other jobs but tend to develop and innovate in the fields of work that have been occupied. Mitigation strategies that can be carried out by the community to deal with a pandemic situation are optimizing existing resources, adding special interest tourist objects, finding alternative jobs, and innovating tourism management. It is necessary to improve the human resources capacity for managers and the surrounding community to realize the strategies.
