Fertilizer is an effort to improve soil fertility status as to increase the growth and yield of the crop at an optimum level. This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of application of liquid combined with 0.5 or 0.75 doses of N, P, and K fertilizer compared standard NPK fertilizers on the growth and yield of sweet corn. This field experiment was arranged in randomized completely block design (RCBD) with six application levels of liquid fertilizer (LF) and standard NPK fertilizer (NPK), namely control (no fertilizer), NPK, 2LF, LF + 0.75NPK, 2LF + 0.5NPK, and 2LF + 0.75NPK, each with three replications. The experimental data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA), Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT), and Relative Agronomic Effectiveness (RAE) test. The results showed that the treatment significantly affected the plant height, leaf number, and cobs’ weight of sweet corn. Application of LF combined with 0,5 or 0,75 of NPK significantly affected leaf number, plant height, and yield of sweet corn, but the effects of single application of LF was not significantly different with control. The treatment of 2LF+0.75NPK showed comparable effects with NPK on the growth parameters and yield of sweet corn, while those of the other treatments were lower than of the NPK treatment.
