Abstract: Ubi Cilembu merupakan salah satu komoditas lokal unggulan KabupatenSumedang. Intensitas serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman menyebabkan petani merugi dan berpengaruh pada livelihood. Tren alih fungsi lahan yang berimplikasi pada penurunan produksi mengancam keberlanjutan usaha tani. Penelitian bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis perbandingan pendapatan usaha tani ubi Cilembu berdasarkan teknik pengairannya, (2) menganalisis sustainable livelihood rumah tangga petani ubi Cilembu, dan (3) menganalisis preferensi masyarakat dalam upaya pelestarian ubi Cilembu. Analisis pendapatan, sustainable livelihood approach, dan contingent valuation method digunakan sebagai metode analisis data. Hasil penelitian mengungkap nilai R/C ratio usaha tani ubi Cilembu menguntungkan, khususnya pada pengairan sprinkle water. Livelihood usaha tani ubi Cilembu tergolong berkelanjutan rendah, dilihat dari konteks kerentanan dan livelihood assets yang dimiliki petani. Diperlukan stategi intensifikasi, ekstensifikasi, diversifikasi, dan migrasi untuk mencapai livelihood outcomes usaha tani yang berkelanjutan. Preferensi masyarakat untuk berkontribusi terhadap upaya pelestarian sebesar Rp6.739,90 untuk setiap pembelian ubi Cilembu per kg. Estimasi bequest value pertanian ubi Cilembu diperoleh sebesar Rp8.694.471.000,00 per tahun. Meningkatkan brand image dan promosi ubi Cilembu, mengembangkan produk-produk alternatif, mendorong penerapan Good Agricultural Practices menjadi strategi program pelestarian ubi Cilembu, dan reaktivasi ASAGUCI sebagai MPIG ubi Cilembu untuk mentransmisikan dana insentif pelestarian.
Ubi Cilembu is one of the local commodities in the Sumedang Regency. The intensity of plant-disturbing organisms causes income reduction and farmers' livelihoods. The trend of land conversion threatens the sustainability of farming. The research aims to (1) analyze the income comparison of Ubi Cilembu’s farming based on the irrigation technique, (2) analyze the sustainable livelihood of Ubi Cilembu’s farmers' households, and (3) analyze the community's preferences in the effort to preserve Ubi Cilembu. Income analysis, sustainable livelihood approach, and contingent valuation method are used for analysis methods. The results showv that the R/C ratio of Ubi Cilembu’s farming was profitable, especially for sprinkle water irrigation. The livelihood of Ubi Cilembu’s farmers is classified as low sustainable, seen from the context of vulnerability and livelihood assets owned by farmers. Strategies of intensification, extensification, diversification, and migration are needed to achieve sustainable livelihood outcomes. The community's preference will contribute to conservation efforts is IDR 6,739.90 each kg. The estimated bequest value of Ubi Cilembu’s agriculture is IDR 8.694.471.000,00 each year. Improving the brand image and promotion of Ubi Cilembu, developing alternative products, encouraging the application of Good Agricultural Practices to become a strategy for conservation program, and reactvitation of ASAGUCI.
