dc.description.abstractPadi merupakan tanaman penting penghasil beras yang akan dijadikan nasi sebagai makanan pokok sehari-hari di Indonesia. Namun produksi padi menurun yang salah satunya diakibatkan oleh gulma. Penelitian bertujuan untuk merancang bangun mesin penyiang yang dapat mengatasi gulma lebih efektif dan efisien dibandingkan cara manual atau menggunakan alat konvensional. Penelitian diawali dengan identifikasi dan perumusan masalah, perumusan dan evaluasi konsep desain, analisis rancangan, manufaktur atau prototyping, serta diakhiri pengujian kinerja hasil rancangan. Mesin penyiang yang dibangun menerapkan 2 buah roda sirip sebagai penggerak, 6 buah pisau rotari sebagai implemen pemotong, motor dc 430 Watt sebagai sumber penggerak, baterai Lipo 3000 mAH sebagai sumber tenaga, dan kopling cakar sebagai sistem belok. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan mesin mampu menempuh kecepatan rata-rata sebesar 8,25 x 10-2 m/s, menghasilkan kapasitas lapang teoritis sebesar 74,21 m2/jam dan efektivitas sebesar 65,52%. Nilai tersebut sudah berada diatas gasrok, namun masih dibawah ski rotary weeder dan power weeder.id
dc.description.abstractPaddy is an important rice-producing crop that will be used as rice as a daily staple food in Indonesia. However, rice production has decreased, one of causes is caused by weeds. The research aims to design a weeding machine that can deal with weeds more effectively and efficiently than the manual method or using conventional tools. The research begins with identification and formulation of problems, formulation and evaluation of design concepts, design analysis, manufacturing or prototyping, and ends with testing the performance of the design results. The weeding machine that is built applies 2 fin wheels as a drive, 6 rotary blades as a cutter implement, a 430 Watt dc motor as a driving source, a 3000 mAH Lipo battery as a power source, and a claw clutch as a turning system. The test results show the machine is able to travel an average speed of 8,25 x 10-2 m/s, resulting a theoretical field capacity 74,21 m2/hour and effectiveness is 65,52%. These values are above the gasrok, but still under rotary weeder and power weeder.id
