Abstract: | Mencit putih (Mus musculus) merupakan hewan mamalia yang memiliki
banyak manfaat, baik sebagai pakan ular dan hewan reptil lain, juga dimanfaatkan
sebagai hewan percobaan/hewan laboratorium. Pepaya california mempunyai
kandungan gizi yang tinggi seperti vitamin A dan C, pepaya juga memiliki kadar
air yang cukup tinggi sebesar 86,7 g dan serat sebesar 0,7 g pada setiap 100 g daging
buah pepaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis performa mencit putih
yang diberi penambahan buah pepaya dalam pakan dengan taraf yang berbeda.
Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 ekor mencit putih. Rancangan yang digunakan
adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan yaitu pemberian
pakan tambahan buah pepaya P1; 0%; P2; 5%; P3; 10%; P4; 15%, dan empat
ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA, hasil yang berbeda
diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada jumlah
konsumsi air minum mencit putih berbeda nyata (P<0,05), sementara pertambahan
bobot badan dan mortalitas tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Perlakuan tanpa
penambahan buah papaya, menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dibanding dengan
perlakuan lainnya. Mice (Mus musculus) is mammal that has many benefits as feed for other reptile, and used as experimental animals. Papaya California has a high nutritional content such as vitamins A and C, contain high water content of 86.7 g and fiber of 0.7 g in every 100 g papaya flesh. This study aimed to analyze the performance of Mice given additional papaya fruit in mouse feed at different levels. This study used 80 white mouse, and applied a complete randomized design (RAL) with four treatments including the additional level of papaya fruit i.e.: T1; 0%; T2; 5%; T3; 10%; T4; 15% with four replication. Data was analyzed using ANOVA. The difference results were tested using Duncan test. The results showed that the amount of drinking water consumption was significantly different (P<0.05) between treatments, which was higher in while the body weight gain and mortality rate was not significantly different (P>0.05) between treatmens. Mouse given feed without papaya fruit treatment showed better results than other treatments. |
