Rice is a very important agricultural commodity. Plant pests such as the brown planthopper (BPH) and bacterial leaf blight (BLB) are one of rice productions constraints. Integrated pest management by prioritizing the use of biological resources is an approach which is expected to be sustainable and friendly to the environment. This study aims to compare bio-intensive IPM technology with conventional methods in managing BPH and BLB in rice and its effect on harvested dry grain yields in Sampang District, Cilacap Regency. The variables were weekly observation of BPH population density and BLB disease intensity, and harvested dry grain weight at the end of experiment. The result showed that bio-intensive IPM technology was relatively able to suppress the development of rice BPH and BLB comparing to conventional method. The production of harvested dry grain in the bio-intensive IPM treatment tended to be higher than the conventional treatment although not statistically different. Among treatments tested, BIO 2 treatment showed highest profit over other treatments.
