Title: Profil Darah Monyet Ekor Panjang (Macaca Fascicularis) Yang Diberi Pakan Berenergi Tinggi Pada Periode Obesitas Empat Bulan Kedua
Authors: Sari, Dianti Desita
Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: The aim of this research was to observe Macaque’s (Macaca fascicularis) blood and get information of the haematology. This research was done during four months with four times collected, at IndoAnilab, Taman Kencana, Bogor and were analysed in pathology and lipid laboratory of primate centre, Pusat Studi Satwa Primata (PSSP), Bogor. Macaca fascicularis were being fed with three kinds of diets. Two kinds were high energy diet with different composition, both with tallow but one with yolk egg and the other one with monkey chow. There were fifteen adult males M. fascicularis and every five monkeys got different maintenance. This research observed erythrocytes number (million/ml), haemoglobin concentration (g/dl), hematocrit value (%), Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin (MCH), Mean Corpuscular Haemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) the differentiations of leucocytes (eosinophil, neutrophil, basophil, lymphocyte and monocyte). The results of this research were high energy diet extremely significant (P<0.01) affected in erythrocytes number, haemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value, MCV and MCH. Periods nested in treatment extremely significant (P<0.01) affected in erythrocytes number, haemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value, MCHC and significant (P<0.05) affected in monocyte. Positive relationship was present between erythrocytes number, haemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value as well as MCV, MCH and MCHC. Negative relationship was present between lymphocyte and neutrophil. The highest influence showed in high energy diet with tallow and yolk egg. Keywords: haematology, high energy diet and long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis)
