Dairy cows health status in the lactation period can be affected by uncomfortable environmental temperatures. The relationship between humidity level and ambient temperature will produce a temperature humidity index (THI) value which can be used as an indicator of heat stress level in Friesien Holstein dairy cows. This study aims to obtain data on the erythrocytes count, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit values and erythrocyte index and to determine the effect of the environment on the health status of dairy cattle in hot and humid tropical plains. To find out the hematological description in dairy cows, a hematological test was carried out on nine Friesian Holstein dairy cows at a commercial dairy farm located in Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency. Blood samples were taken through the coccygeal vein and put into a tube containing the anticoagulant Ethylenediamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA) to calculate the erythrocyte count, hemoglobin level and hematocrit value. The average temperature in this study was in the range of 27,1 ± 3,6 °C and the humidity was 81,3 ± 10,3 %. The results obtained were erythrocyte count 6,24 ± 0,72 x 106 /µL, hemoglobin level 13,40 ± 6,42 g/dL, hematocrit value 29.57 ± 3.24%, MCV 47,47 ± 2,29 fl, MCH 21,21 ± 9,38 pg and MCHC 42,53 ± 18,73 g/dL. These results indicate that dairy cows located in tropical lowlands experience heat stress, thereby reducing the number of erythrocytes, increasing hemoglobin and hematocrit which causes dairy cows to experience mild stress
