Prevalensi Infeksi Endoparasit pada Anjing di Klinik Monsabel Medan Periode Januari - Desember 2021

Abstract

Anjing atau Canis familiaris merupakan salah satu hewan yang dapat hidup berdampingan dengan manusia. Infeksi parasit cacing merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang umum dijumpai pada anjing. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur prevalensi infeksi endoparasit dan infeksi cacing pada anjing serta faktor risiko kejadian kecacingan dan tindakan preventif untuk mencegah infeksi cacing. Pengambilan data rekam medikpasien anjing dilakukan di klinik Monsabel Medan pada Januari sampai Desember 2021. Total kasus infeksi cacing pada anjing berjumlah 68 kasus dari 2828 total seluruh pasien anjing. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Prevalensi infeksi cacing pada anjing di klinik Monsabel Medan pada Januari – Desember 2021 sebesar 2,41%. Faktor risiko infeksi cacing pada anjing adalah jenis kelamin.dan umur. Antelmintik yang mengandung bahan aktif seperti febantel, pyrantel pamoat, dan praziquantel digunakan sebagai tindakan preventif untuk mencegah infeksi cacing.

Dog or Canis familiaris is one of the animals that can live with humans. Parasitic helminth infection are one of the most common health problems in dogs. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of dog endoparasite infection and helminth infection in dogs as well asthe risk factors for helminthiasis and preventive behaviors to avoid helminth infections. Medical records of canine patients were collected at the Monsabel clinicin Medan from January to December 2021. The total number of cases of helminth infection in dogs was 68 cases out of 2828 total canine patients. The datawere analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The prevalence of helminth infection in dogs at the Monsabel clinic Medan from January to December 2021 was 2.41%. The risk factor for helminth infection in dogs is gender and age. Anthelmintics containing active ingredients such as febantel, pyrantel pamoate, andpraziquantel are preventive measures to prevent helminth infections.
