Abstract: Rodents are mammalians group found in worldwide, large population of commensal rodents live proximity with human in urban area may favor the transmission of zoonotic disease. Rodent-borne helminths related diseases are listed as neglected disease, commonly find within mid to low income country. This study aims to identify the potential helminthic zoonotic diseases that might be transmitted via rodents in Peninsular Malaysia. Literature review on studies of helminths in rodents in Peninsular Malaysia within these ten years had been carried out. Those helminths that potentially cause zoonotic diseases had been listed out to further investigate the helminths’ characteristic, lifecycle, transmission mode, and prevention methods. Five studies had been reviewed; four zoonotic diseases had been ruled out with five species of helminths had been identified which are H. nana, H. diminuta, A. malaysiensis, C. hepatica, and M. moniliformis. In which, H. nana and H. diminuta had a higher zoonotic risk than other zoonotic diseases. Most of the zoonotic diseases listed are transmit by accidental ingestion of contaminated foods or drinks. Prevention methods include good hygiene, sanitation and public health practices.
