| Abstract: | Sumberdaya lahan mempunyai keragaman berbagai unsur penyusunnya yang meliputi tanah, relief, iklim, hidrologi dan vegetasi. SL-3 untuk budidaya tanaman pangan dengan perbaikan ketersediaan hara terutama P, sedangkan SL-4 untuk kebun campuran tanaman hortikultura dengan perbaikan ketersediaan hara N, P dan K. Land resources have a variety of constitutent elements which include soil, relief, climate, hydrology and vegetation. Soil as the main element of land, the diversity of its characteristics can greatly affect the function of the land, especially as a medium for growing plants. The diversity of land characteristics can be formed naturally as a result of the work of various soil formation factors. On a land transect with geological and geomorphic conditions in different areas, it is possible to study the diversity of soil and land characteristics, as well as their potential use. One of method to analyze land potential is evaluate land suitability that land use decisions can be chosen appropriately, quickly and efficiently. This study aims to evaluate land suitability according to the FAO concept for forestry and agricultural crops on a land transect in Padalarang Village, West Bandung Regency. On land transects based on toposequence and lithosequence, the research area was divided into 4 homogeneous land units (SL) with differences in aspects of soil type, land geomorphic, slope class, depth of solum and soil drainage. SL-1 had colluvial slope, very steep slope with soil type of Lithic Eutrudepts; SL-2 had alluvial-coluvial slope, steep slope with soil type of Inceptic Hapludalfs; SL-3 had alluvial plain, flat slope with soil type of Typic Endoaquepts; and SL-4 had downhill hills, gently sloped with soil type of Aquic Eutrudepts. The results of the land suitability analysis showed that Land Unit 1 (SL-1) was not suitable (N) for forestry and agricultural crops. SL-2 was marginally suitable (S3) for pine, suren and banana. Marginally suitable crops (S3) for SL-3 included rainfed ricefield, corn, banana, and calliandra, while SL-4 was marginally suitable (S3) for banana, suren and calliandra. SL1 and SL2 were directed for forestry plants by taking into account the main inhibiting factors for slopes and erosion hazards, according to the Regional Spatial Plan to endure geological nature reserves. SL-3 was for cultivation of food crops with nutrients addition, especially P fertilizer, while SL-4 was for mixed gardens of horticultural crops with the addition of nitrogen, phosophorous and potassium nutrients. |
