Supplementation of vitamin E and selenium improved the productivity of livestock. Vitamin E and selenium function as natural antioxidants so that the combination of vitamin E and selenium can protect tissues and boost the immune system. This study aims to evaluate the effect of vitamin E and selenium supplementation on different diets for IPB D-2 chickens during 15-21 weeks of age. A Completely randomized factorial 2 x 2 (factor A was diet type and factor B vitamin E (100 ppm) and selenium (1 ppm) supplementation) and five replications was used in this experiment. The variables observed were performance, blood profile, immune organs, percentage of carcass weight, first age of laying eggs and percentage of weight and relative length of the digestive tract. The results showed there was no interaction between the diet type and supplementation on the performance of IPB D-2 chickens in the developer and prelayer periods. The diet type had a significant effect (P<0.05) on increasing feed consumption, feed conversion in the developer period and had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on increasing prelayer, layer feed consumption and body weight gain in the layer period. Vitamin E and selenium supplementation had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on increasing feed consumption in the prelayer period and body weight gain in the layer period. There was a highly significant interaction (P<0.01) on increasing the feed conversion ratio of layer period and a significant interaction (P<0.05) on increasing the percentage of the carcass. The results of the H/L blood profile observation showed that the chickens were at a medium stress level. The variables of immunity organs, egg production, and relative length of the digestive tract were not affected by the treatment. Leeson and Summers (2005) standard nutrients requirement supplemented with vitamin E (100 ppm) and selenium (1 ppm) showed the best results for IPB D-2 chickens in terms of feed conversion ratio and body weight gain.
