Description: Jatiluhur Reservoir is one part of the Citarum Cascade Reservoir which is considered polluted by microplastics. This study compared the abundance and microplastic characteristics of the gastrointestinal tract of the dominant fish in the Jatiluhur Reservoir, namely nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and midas cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus). Microplastic characteristics were arranged according to the shape, size, color, and type of polymer. The statistical test used was Kruskall-Wallis, a different trial that was tested by Mann Whitney Wilcoxon U. The average microplastic abundance in this study was 46 ± 53.1 particles/individual. The most type of microplastic inside the gastrointestinal tract of the dominant fish was fiber and the dominant size of microplastic was range from 500-1000 μm. The color pattern of microplastics was dominated by transparent. The dominant type of polymer found after FTIR spectroscopy was nylon. Microplastic abundance was significantly different in the gastrointestinal tract of nile tilapia and midas cichlid in the Jatiluhur Reservoir.
