Kayu putih (Melaleuca cajuputi Powell) is one type of tree that has many benefits, especially in the producing of essential oils. Essential oils are obtained by distilling the leaves. There have been many studies related to kayu putih trees, but they have not been well recorded, so it is not known what aspects have been studied in full and which aspects are lacking. This study aims to obtain information on the number and distribution of research aspects related to kayu putih trees in Indonesia and to analyze the adequacy of information about kayu putih trees to support the development of kayu putih plantations in Indonesia. Based on the results of an inventory of research on kayu putih trees in Indonesia, there are a total of 73 publications. The results are divided into 8 aspects, namely seeding, nursery, planting, maintenance, breeding, harvesting, benefits, and production. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that studies related to kayu putih trees have/have not covered the 8 aspects studied and have not fulfilled the need for the development of kayu putih plantations in Indonesia.
