Proboscis Monkey (Narsalis larvatus) is one of the primates found in animal captivity and their population must be maintained in Indonesia. This paper describes the histopathology of the disease due to acariasis in the lungs that cause the death of proboscis monkeys. Acariasis is a mite parasite that infects the respiratory tract. Cases are rare and have not been reported in protected primates in Indonesia. This research aims to study and provide information as well as increase knowledge about lung histopathology changes and acariasis as well as to various other organs such as brain, heart, spleen, liver and kidneys in a systematic manner. This proboscis monkey cadaver comes from a routine necropsy at the Ragunan Zoo in 2012 and has protocol number P235/12. Organ samples were processed for histopathology slides at the Pathology Division, Department of Clinic, Reproduction, and Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Bogor Agricultural University. The results of histopathological observations were presented descriptively. Histopathological observations showed that he had squamous metaplasia of the bronchial epithelium, including granulomas, atelectasis, pulmonary emphysema, pulmonary edema and blood vessels (thrombus). Amyloid deposits were found in the liver, blood vessels in the spleen, and kidneys, as well as in the brain with anoxia lesions
