The problem of flooding or inundation often occurs on roads in Indonesia, including on Jalan Mangunsarkoro, Cianjur Regency. The purpose of the research were to evaluate the condition of the drainage channel on Jalan Mangunsarkoro, and to review the suitability of the drainage channel capacity to the runoff discharge, using the EPA SWMM 5.1 model. This research used the maximum daily rainfall for 10 years. The analyses result using Log Pearson III method showed that the planned rainfall of 2 years return period was 104.36 mm. Modeling result showed that the research location had 32 junctions, 32 conduits, 2 outfall nodes, and 52 subcatchments. The simulation results showed that 2 channels were overflowed because of the channels capacity problem. So to get the optimal capacity, the dimensions of the 2 channels should be changed with 0.60 m width and 0.80 m depth. Another alternative to solve the flood problems was to use drainage culvert with diameter of 0.80 m. |
