Abstract: | Salah satu faktor penentu kualitas suatu ternak adalah kualitas genetiknya. Kualitas genetik tidak dapat dihitung secara langsung, melainkan harus diestimasi dengan parameter genetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengestimasi nilai pemuliaan berdasarkan bobot dan ukuran-ukuran tubuh pedet saat lahir. Penelitian ini menggunakan 658 data kelahiran dari 38 pejantan sapi PO kebumen yaitu bobot lahir (BL), lingkar dada (LD), tinggi pundak (TP), dan panjang badan (PB). Data sekunder didapatkan dari data rekording milik KTT Perpokeb di Kabupaten Kebumen. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode korelasi saudara tiri sebapak. Rata-rata BL, LD, TP, dan PB sapi PO kebumen secara berurutan sebesar 32,17±3,72 kg; 69,76±7,24 cm; 73,68±6,44 cm; 60,22±7,57 cm. Nilai heritabilitas BL, LD, TP, PB sapi PO kebumen termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Nilai pemuliaan BL, LD, TP, PB sapi PO kebumen tertinggi secara berurutan sebesar 35,72 kg, 74,74 cm, 76,90 cm, dan 66,76 cm. BL dengan LD dan BL dengan TP berkorelasi positif, sedangkan BL berkorelasi negatif dengan PB. Pejantan yang paling konsisten berada pada 10 pejantan dengan nilai pemuliaan terbaik dari setiap parameter adalah GS J 0002 dan KS K 14 10055. The determining factor for the superiority of an animal is its genetic quality. Genetic value of beef cattle cannot be estimated directly, but is predicted using genetic parameters. This study aims to rank kebumen ongole sire based on their breeding values. This study used 658 birth record from 38 kebumen ongole sires, i.e birth weight (BW), chest circumference (CC), shoulder height (SH), and body length (BL). Secondary data were obtained from KTT Perpokeb recorded data in Kebumen District. Data were analyzed using paternal half sib method. The means of BW, CC, SH, and BL of kebumen ongole cattle were 32,17±0,15 kg; 69,76±0,28 cm; 73,68±0,25 cm; 60,22±0,30 cm, respectively. Heritability value of BW, CC, SH, and BL of kebumen ongole cattle was high. The highest breeding value of BW, CC, SH, and BL of kebumen ongole cattle was 35,72 kg, 74,74 cm, 76,90 cm, and 66,76 cm, respectively. BW was positively correlated with CC and SH, but negatively correlated with BL. The most consistent sire that included in the best ten candidates were GS J 0002 and KS K 14 10055. |
