Abstract: Cabai (Capsicum annuum L.) merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi dan banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat di Indonesia untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga maupun industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi daya hasil dan keragaan galur hibrida dan non hibrida cabai besar IPB. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2020 hingga Februari 2021 di Kebun Percobaan Leuwikopo IPB dan Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman IPB. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) dengan faktor tunggal yaitu genotipe. Jumlah genotipe yang digunakan terdiri atas 6 galur cabai besar IPB (5 galur non hibrida dan 1 galur hibrida) dan 4 varietas pembanding (2 varietas non hibrida dan 2 varietas hibrida) yang diulang sebanyak 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 30 satuan percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe cabai besar memiliki pengaruh yang nyata pada karakter tebal daging buah dan lebar tajuk, tidak berpengaruh nyata pada karakter persentase tanaman hidup dan berpengaruh sangat nyata untuk karakter lainnya. Galur hibrida F1.074 x 005 memiliki umur panen yang genjah, yaitu 69–70 HST, sehingga berpotensi didaftarkan sebagai varietas baru. Galur hibrida F1.074 x 005 (19,84 ton ha-1), galur non hibrida F7. 074136–2–3–2–3–2 (12,87 ton ha-1), F6. 074077–173–1 (12,66 ton ha-1), dan F7. 136074–1–4–3–1–9 (12,14 ton ha-1) berpotensi didaftarkan sebagai varietas baru karena memiliki daya hasil yang setara/lebih baik serta keragaan yang berbeda dengan varietas pembanding.
Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is a horticultural commodity that has high economic value and is widely used by people in Indonesia for household and industrial needs. This research aimed to evaluate the yield and performance of non hybrid and hybrid lines of big chili IPB. The research was conducted in September 2020 until March 2021 at Teaching Farm Leuwikopo and Plant Breeding Laboratory IPB. The design used was a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with a single factor, namely genotype. The number of genotypes used consisted of 6 lines of large chili IPB (5 non hybrid lines and 1 hybrid line) and 4 comparison varieties (2 non hybrid varieties and 2 hybrid varieties) with 3 repetitions. Thus, there was total 30 experimental units. The research outcome showed that the big chili lines had a significant effect on flesh thickness and crown width, had no significant effect on the percentage of live and had a very significant effect on other characters. The F1.074 x 005 hybrid line had an early harvest age of 69 70 DAP, so that it had the potential to be registered as a new variety. Hybrid line F1.074 x 005 (19,84 ton ha-1), non hybrid lines F7. 074136–2–3–2–3–2 (12,87 ton ha-1), F6. 074077–1–7–3–1 (12,66 ton ha-1), dan F7. 136074–1–4–3–1–9 (12,14 ton ha-1) has the potential to be registered as a new variety because it has the same/better yield and different performances from the comparison varieties.
