Abstract: Belum tersedianya informasi tentang biomekanika pohon trembesi (Samanea saman (Jacq.) Sementara itu informasi keragaan mekanikalnya diantaranya meliputi Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity (MOEd), Static Modulus of Elasticity (MOEs), dan Modulus of Rupture (MOR).
Information on rain trees (Samanea saman (Jacq.) Merr) biomechanics has not been reported yet, as such the tree failure risk analysis was difficult to carry out. A study was conducted to determine the tree's biomechanics at IPB Dramaga Campus landscape based on their morphometry, visual and mechanical features. The data collection regarding tree morphometry and visual performance refers to the Visual Tree Assessment (VTA). Meanwhile, the tree’s mechanical features including Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity (MOEd), Static Modulus of Elasticity (MOEs), and Modulus of Rupture (MOR). The results of this study showed that the tree slenderness 21 to 50 and Live Crown Ratio (LCR) 40 to > 60%. Based on the failure risk category, 48 rain trees (96%) were in good condition. The results also showed that MOEd, MOEs, and MOR had an average of 6618,61; 4847,74; and 39,15 MPa respectively. Based on the feature of their morphometric and visual characteristics, it is considered that the rain trees were in good vigority with optimal growth.
