Kajian Profil Klinis dan Hematologi Rusa Timor (Rusa timorensis) di Pusat Pengembangan Teknologi Penangkaran Rusa Bogor

Abstract

Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) merupakan jenis rusa asli dengan persebaran terluas di Indonesia. Informasi terkait gambaran klinis dan profil hematologi rusa timor di Indonesia khususnya di penangkaran masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari gambaran klinis dan profil hematologi rusa timor yang ditangkarkan di Pusat Pengembangan Teknologi Penangkaran Rusa Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan 10 ekor rusa timor yang terdiri dari 5 ekor rusa jantan dan 5 ekor rusa betina. Hasil pemeriksaan profil klinis berupa suhu tubuh, frekuensi denyut jantung, dan frekuensi respirasi menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan antar jenis kelamin yang mana rusa betina menunjukkan nilai gambaran klinis yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rusa jantan. Hasil pemeriksaan hematologi menunjukkan nilai parameter hematologi rusa betina cenderung lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rusa jantan. Evaluasi sediaan ulas darah menunjukkan gambaran eritrosit berbentuk normal dan bentuk abnormal berupa poikilositosis dan anisositosis. Gambaran leukosit rusa timor memperlihatkan leukosit yang sama dengan leukosit mamalia pada umumnya. Hasil pengukuran morfometri sel darah menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antar jenis kelamin pada morfometri eritrosit namun tidak didapati pada hasil pengukuran morfometri leukosit.

Timor deer (Rusa timorensis) is a native deer species with the widest distribution in Indonesia. Information about clinical and hematological profiles of timor deer in Indonesia especially in captivity is still limited. The objective of this research was to study the clinical and hematological profiles of timor deer in Bogor Development Center of Deer Captive Breeding Technology. This research used ten timor deers that consist of five timor stags and five timor hinds. The results of clinical profiles such as body temperature, heart rate, and respiration rate showed differences between sex which clinical profiles of timor hinds were higher than timor stags. The results of hematological profiles showed the hematological values of timor hinds were tend to be higher compared with the timor stags. Evaluation of blood smear showed normal erythrocytes and abnormal forms such as poikilocytosis and anisocytosis. The leukocytes of timor deer showed the same morphology as common mammalian leukocytes’ morphology. The results of blood cell morphometry measurements showed significant differences between sex in erythrocytes’ morphometry but not in leukocytes.
