Abstract: The manufacture of indicator labels for humidity has not been widely carried out. In fresh products, humidity is a factor that can reduce the quality of the product. This study aims to develop the best label formulation for water vapor indicator in packaging, especially for packaging fresh products. Formulation of indicator labels made with tablet dosage forms. The final result of the color indicator used as the main ingredient of the indicator label is the use of bromcressol green. Bromcressol green has the ability to change color from greenish yellow to blue. Determining the best tablet color formulation obtained by treatment without the addition of acid or alkaline solutions. To get a strong and sturdy tablet physical state, it is necessary to heat the ingredients after the mixing process. With this process, the best physical condition of the tablet was obtained as seen from the test of weight uniformity, hardness, and tablet disintegration time. The best way to store tablets is to be packaged in closed plastic. The indicator of storage tablets with closed packaging at 60% RH gave a small color change and low absorption of 14.56%. The tablet indicator stored in 100% RH was able to change the color of the tablet from greenish yellow to blue with a higher absorption of 24.95%.
