dc.description.abstractGlobal alignment of DNA sequenceaimsto determinesimilarity between two DNA sequences by measuring the matchingregion which in volvestheoverall nucleotides of two DNA sequences. Thisresearchimplements the global alignment using Needleman-Wunsch algorithm on thesequence of Ancylostomaduodenalemitochondrion, completegenome(NC_003415.1)and the sequence of Necatoramericanusmitochondrion,completegenome(NC_003416.2).Theresultshowsthatthesimilarityof thesesequencesis 83.7%with6.5%gapsThesecondexperimentis performedusingthesequenceof Humanpapillomavirustype134,completegenome(NC_014956.1) andthesequenceof Humanpapillomavirustype132,completegenome(NC_014955.1).Theresultshowsthatthesimilarityis 62.9%andgapsof 23.5%.BothresultsconcludethattheNeedleman-Wunschcouldobtainhighersimilaritythanthoseof GSAtreeandsuperpairwisealignmeid
