Rencana Pengembangan Kawasan Ekowisata Pesisir Interpretatif di Kawasan Konservasi Laut Daerah Selat Dampier Kabupaten Raja Ampat Provinsi Papua Barat
Abstract
This paper describes the establishment of ecotourism area planning using spatial approach in Selat Dampier Conservation Area of Raja Ampat West Papua Province. This area include in development nodal integrated tourism, sea protectorate area and multipurpose protected area. This research was carried out using both quantitative descriptive and quantitative spatial methods to assess land suitability for tourism activities; avaiability object and attraction; and acceptability and opportunity empowerment local community (indepth interview). Variables using GIS integration of those, producted utilization of coastal ecotourism zone and interpretative tracking. The research results show that Friwen and Arborek Islands are suitable for development of coastal recreation and snorkeling. However, mangrove ecotourism can be performed only in Arborek Island. Local community as well highly supports the ecotourism area development and activities that may increase the economic income. Based on potency of ecological suitability, community acceptability and opportunity empowerment of local community, intensive and semi intensive zone are provided. Arborek Island has intensive zone area wider than Friwen Island. Intensive zone of those two island can be developed as interpretation tracking which may educated tourists.
