      Abstract
      Thc exotic of social culture and thc natural beach of Bali are the two important aspects which attract tourists to come to Bali. This bring a positive economic impact to the local community and to the national economy, but it also raises the question on the negative impact to the environmen. The recent problem occurs in Kuta beach resort is the development of uncontrollable aglomeration process. Kuta has been transformed from what once a beautiful natural environment into a harsh and polluted urban environment which could result in the decreases of the tourist visit. The objectives of the study are: (a) to identify the impact of tourism development on the environment and the social and economical aspects in particular, and (b) to analyze the process of change ahd development of ecotourism of Kuta beach resort. The study uses the 1995 farm survey data, conducted in three Kelurahan of two Kecamatan in Kuta beach zone, with a total sample of 460 fann households. These kinds of data collected were maidy- on land holding and factors which determining it. Besides, the time series secondary data, consist of data such as; Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employment of Bali, investment on the directly productive activities @PA) on the tourism industry and the social overhead of capital (SOC), and the pattem of land use change. The secondary data were used also to elaborating the physical, biological and social cultural environment aspects.
