Pendugaan Sebaran Kelas Diameter dan Tinggi pada Fase Pertumbuhan Iwul (Orania sylvicola) di Cagar Alam Dungus Iwul, Bogor, Jawa Barat.
Abstract
Iwul (Orania sylvicola) is a primitive species of palm tree. Iwul is a local threatened species in Java Island, because iwul could only be found in the Dungus Iwul Nature Reserve. The purposes of this research were to classify iwul’s diameter and height based on its growth phase and to analyze the relation between diameter and free of sheath height of iwul. The method used was field observation by measuring the the base diameter, diameter at 1 m height, diameter at 1.3 m height and free of sheath height of iwul. The results showed that the growth phase of iwul divided into seedling, establishment, vegetatively adult and reproductively adult. Differences of individual’s number in every growth phase created J curve which described that iwul’s population was growing. Diameter and free of sheath height was classified five class based on growth phase. There was overlapping the diameter and free of sheath height in each classes that indicated its could not be assumed growth phase. The Diameter and free of sheath height could only be determined on vegetatively adult, because its formed a significant relation base diameter and free of sheath height.
